Characteristics of seismicity and the estimation of seismic parameters of Geraty Dam of Esfarayen

Given the importance of the ground acceleration values and seismic parameters within the boundaries of dams, the major faults in the study area of Graty Dam is firstly introduced; then, through the Gutenberg– Richter method, and Kijku maximum likelihood estimation, seismicity parameters are presented. Then, to estimate peak horizontal ground acceleration values, the method of estimating ground motion parameters based on seismic point sources and estimating the peak ground acceleration based on linear and areal seismic source is used. In estimating the peak ground acceleration based on linear and areal seismic sources, the most reliable method of Porkeniz harbor and the program (SEISRISK– III) is used . Finally, considering the small distance of some faults like F1 and PoshtBahram and their greater importance in the Graty dam area , horizontal acceleration values at different levels (normal, and likely final analysis) is presented.
