Publication of the joint article by faculty members for the Accounting Department in Bozorgmehr University of Qaenat in an online journal with JCR Q2 accreditation

The joint article of Dr. Maleeha Ashna and Dr. Hamid Lal Khezri, the respected faculty members of the accounting department of Bozorgmehr University of Qaenat, with the title "Investigation into the dynamic relationships between global economic uncertainty and price volatilities of commodities, raw materials, and energy" was published in the journal "Applied Economic Analysis" with JCR-Q2 accreditation and with the impact factor of "2.3". The purpose of this article is to investigate the relationship between the uncertainty of the global economy and the f luctuation of prices during the period of 1997-2020, by focusing on the price index of goods, industrial materials and energy as indicators for global inflation. For this purpose, the generalized method of conditional heterogeneity - dynamic conditional correlation (DCC-GARCH) has been used. The research results showed that there is a positive relationship between commodity prices and economic policy uncertainty (GEPU), except for the years 1999-2000 and 2006-2008. The results of the model were based on the energy price index similar to the commodity price index. Also, a dominant positive relationship is observed by focusing on the relationship between GEPU and the price of industrial materials. The Granger causality results also show a one-way relationship between the uncertainty index - commodity price index and between the uncertainty index - industrial material price index. While a two-way causality relationship between uncertainty index and energy price index has been determined. In general, changes in price indices can be affected by Global Economic Uncertainty as a political factor that indicates unfavorable economic conditions.
