Bozorgmehr University of Qaenat in Mourning Over the Martyrdom of the President

According to the university’s public relations office, at noon on Monday, May 20, 2024, following the martyrdom of Khadem al-Reza, the Master of Martyrs in Service, Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi—the beloved and popular President of the Islamic Republic of Iran—and his loyal companions in a helicopter crash, a memorial ceremony was held at the Shrine Defenders Hall of Bozorgmehr University of Qaenat, attended by a group of seminary students and academics from Qaenat County.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Seyyed Ehsan Shakib, the university president, offered condolences on the martyrdom of the Servant of the People, Khadem al-Reza, Ayatollah Raisi and his companions. He described Martyr Raisi as a sincere, devoted, and tireless servant of the people, adding that in his various roles—whether in the Judiciary, as custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, or as President—he worked selflessly, tirelessly, and with a spirit of jihad for the people. In his conduct, there was no concept of rest or leisure, and he never allowed himself a break in the path of serving the people.

In continuation, Hojjatoleslam Bani Khazaei, a professor of seminary and university, offered condolences on the martyrdom of Ayatollah Raisi and his companions. He described the most essential human need in this world as *“pure life” (Hayat Tayyibah)*, emphasizing that such a life depends on faith and righteous deeds. He added that the martyred President Ayatollah Raisi was a clear example of a faithful and virtuous individual.

He further stated that serving people and fulfilling their needs is a key feature of Islamic culture. Referring to a saying by Imam Ali (AS): “Live among people in such a way that if you die, they weep for you, and if you live, they eagerly seek your company,” he noted that being people-oriented was one of Raisi’s most prominent traits, and throughout his service, he never ceased to serve the people.

The ceremony concluded with elegy recitation and chest-beating by Karbalaei Yaser Esmaeili in mourning for the beloved President and his companions.
