Holding of the Specialized Bootcamp on Medicinal Plants Focused on Barberry and Saffron at Bozorgmehr University in Collaboration with Qaenat County’s Technology Incubator

The Specialized Medicinal Plants Bootcamp Focused on Barberry and Saffron Held at Bozorgmehr University in Collaboration with Qaenat County’s Technology Incubator.

A specialized scientific-practical event titled `Medicinal Plants Bootcamp Focused on Barberry and Saffron` was held at the Martyrs of Service Hall of Bozorgmehr University of Qaenat, with around 130 students from various disciplines participating.

Organized in collaboration with Qaenat County’s Technology Incubator, this bootcamp provided a valuable opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience with the value chain of these two major crops. Intensive short-term training sessions were offered, including workshops on team building, business model canvassing, and final proposal presentation. These sessions were designed to help participants quickly acquire practical skills required in today’s job market.

 Key features of the bootcamp included:

- Networking opportunities

- Industry exposure

Students from disciplines such as Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Accounting, and Geography learned modern techniques in cultivation, processing, and marketing of barberry and saffron.

On the sidelines of the event, University President Dr. Shakib stated: 

"Our aim in organizing this bootcamp is to bridge academic knowledge with practical skills and to introduce students to entrepreneurship opportunities in the field of medicinal plants with a focus on barberry and saffron.”

At the conclusion of the bootcamp, 11 ideas were presented by participants, out of which three top-ranked ideas advanced to the final stage and were recognized in the presence of provincial and local officials.
